Life Is Like A Vapor

By Brother Don Hoffman

Another reminder of the brevity of anything of this life.  James told us that it’s like a vapor that appears for a time, and then vanishes.

As brothers and sisters in Christ; let’s spend our energies pointing each other to the thing that helps us get our priorities straightened out.  That which gets our focus back on things that affect our eternal destination.  Those things which build up and strengthen our faith.  Pointing each other to do that which will build up our treasure in heaven where moth and rust does not corrupt.
Brothers and sister;  satan is against the family unit.  We must build and strengthen the right relationship of husbands and wives… of parents and children.  Men, we must learn to be the heads of our family… to love our wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her…… for it is the HOME where the things temporal  – or the things eternal –  are set in our lives and in the  lives of those we love the most.  If we fail here, we will fail in the rest of our lives.
Look at what is left of the family unit in this satan’s eden!  It started by satan getting between a husband and wife and it is seeming to end there in this last age.  Don’t allow him in your home.  Do those things that are assigned to you by the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to take His place and influence all who are there in His gentle love.
Eph. 5:25  Husbands, love your wives even as Christ loved the church and gave HImself for it ( this is one of the most consuming scriptures that dictates our life’s work that I know of ).  That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water of the Word, That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish before Him in love.  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.
Eph. 5:22  Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as unto the Lord..
Our eternal sight begins in the home…. becomes either real in the home…. or else becomes just a subject of religious rhetoric..
Our eternal sight and vision is grown in the home.
Our communion with the Eternal is established in the hearts of our children…. at home… with mom and dad.
Let the words to the song that we sing be a reality in our lives.
” Set your hopes on things eternal.
hold to God’s unchanging hand.”
Please see the quote below……
To Whom Would We Go?
First, He’s the Way; second, He’s the Truth; third, He’s the Light; fourth, He’s the only Eternal Foundation; and fifth, He’s the only Eternal Happiness and Joy; sixth, He is the only lasting Achievement. He is. You tell me somewhere, or some place, that you could go, or something you could do, or something you could achieve, that would be everlasting outside of Jesus Christ. Tell me if you could build a house that would be everlasting. Tell me you could build a popularity, be eternal. Tell me you could get enough riches that’d be eternal riches. You cannot do it, nothing outside of Jesus Christ. He is the Eternal Achievement. And if you have achieved ever so much in your life, you have never achieved the Eternal thing yet, until you have found Christ Jesus and have got Him into your heart. He is the Eternal Achievement.
